A very long phone conference with our wedding planner.

"Wedding planner?!" you say, "What, are you guys made of money?"

No. The opposite actually. The idea is a wedding planner will help us stay in budget. So far so good.

Also, since we're having a destination-ish wedding (only three hours away, but still) it helps to have someone there who knows the place.

Like I said, long phone conference, hours, but we got tons of shit done. And it was easier than a three hour drive.
